Operation method:

HOW TO OPERATE THE REVERSE GEAR

  1. Start the motorcycle and make sure the transmission is in neutral.
  2. Squeeze and release the clutch lever.
  3. Press and hold the starter button to move the motorcycle in reverse.
  4. Release the starter button to stop reversing.
  5. Select a forward gear when you are ready to continue riding.

REVERSING ON A SLOPE

When reversing on an incline or whenever additional control is needed, hold the front brake before pressing the starter button.

Continue holding the starter button while gradually releasing and reapplying the front brake to control the motorcycle’s movement. Release the starter button whenever you want the reverse unit to stop.

Operating Requirements

1. Clutch switch

To test the clutch switch, select a gear, fully squeeze the clutch lever and attempt to start the engine.

If the engine starts, the clutch switch is functioning. If it does not start, the clutch switch or its adjustment should be inspected.

2. Front brake switch

Squeeze the front brake lever and confirm that the rear brake light illuminates.

3. Neutral switch

With the transmission in neutral, confirm that the green neutral indicator is illuminated on the instrument panel.

Function settings

1. Cooling Fan

To turn the optional cooling fan function on or off:

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
  2. Hold the front brake lever.
  3. Press and hold the right turn-signal switch for more than five seconds.

Two beeps indicate that the fan function is ON. One beep indicates that it is OFF.

When activated, the fan will run for approximately one second as confirmation.

During normal operation, the fan will run only when all required conditions are met:

• Ambient temperature reaches 82.4°F (28°C).
• Engine temperature reaches 131°F (55°C).
• Motorcycle speed is below 9.3 mph (15 km/h).

2. Reverse Speed

The system offers high- and low-speed reverse settings. Low speed provides more precise control for riders who prefer slower reverse movement.

To change the reverse-speed setting:

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Hold the front brake lever.
  3. Press and hold both turn-signal switches simultaneously for more than five seconds.

The factory default is high speed. Two beeps confirm that low-speed mode has been selected.

3. Reverse Warning Beeper

When enabled, the warning beeper sounds once per second while the motorcycle is reversing.

To turn the reverse warning beeper on or off:

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Hold the front brake lever.
  3. Press and hold the left turn-signal switch for five seconds.

Two beeps indicate that the warning beeper is ON. One beep indicates that it is OFF.

The system also uses audible confirmations when changing the cooling-fan, reverse-speed and warning-beeper settings.
